Katy was educated at Lincoln University and has been part of the Myers team since graduating in 2008. With Associated Chartered Accountant status and first-hand experience, she has knowledge in many different aspects of the accounting industry - having been in the audit sector and now in the business advisory/taxation department, and also as secretary for her partner’s company.

Katy’s current responsibilities are wide – from preparing, processing and finalising accounts and other financial statements through to statutory file reviews and GST returns. She takes delight in assisting agricultural and small business clients to grow and flourish.

Katy lives on a dairy farm near Dunsandel with her partner who is contract milking/low order sharemilking. She enjoys spending her free time out on the farm, playing sport or catching up with friends and family.

Elliot joined the Myers team fresh from graduating the University of Canterbury in 2008. Since then, he has been crafting his business advisory and taxation talents to produce the best results for the company’s clients.

Elliot enjoys working at Myers because of the broad range of clients and tasks, and the responsibility assumed to lead a job from start to finish.

Elliot is currently working towards gaining Chartered Accountant status with the NZICA, and when he is not studying you may find him playing football or squash, or relaxing with a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir.

Originally from South Africa, Ronnie enjoys the lifestyle that Ashburton has to offer. He came to Myers in 2011 from another Ashburton firm, and loves the tight-knit family environment that the Myers team has.

Ronnie has spent 15 years in the commercial industry, and collectively eight years working for accounting/taxation and audit clients. He is passionate about tax, and is always keen to find ways to reduce clients’ taxation troubles.

Outside of work, Ronnie enjoys running and cycling, and spending time with his family.

Originally from Romania and with an Economics degree from the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Simona joined the team in 2008. From the beginning, she has enjoyed working at Myers because of the friendly work atmosphere between team members.

Simona has three years accounting experience in the commercial industry, and four years working for accounting/taxation and audit clients. She is currently studying towards Associate Chartered Accountant status with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.

In her spare time, Simona enjoys reading and spending time with her family. She is also a swim instructor at the Ashburton Community Pool.

Haley joined the team as a graduate in late 2011, having gained a degree in Accounting and Business Management at Lincoln University. She is excited to put the skills she has learnt into a practical environment by preparing financial statements, GST returns and tax returns for clients.

Haley enjoys acting for a wide variety of clients and the varying needs for each job. She has also enjoyed getting to know the Myers team, and likes the combined wealth of experience and knowledge between staff and their willingness to share what they know to get jobs completed swiftly and accurately for clients.

Outside of work Haley enjoys socialising with friends, being outdoors on the farm, fishing and travelling.

Fiona grew up in Ashburton and joined Myers in 2007 after having over 15 years experience in Christchurch accountancy firms.

She provides reception and office administration support to the Director and the rest of the team, and is also responsible for the company’s debtors and creditors, company maintenance and word processing.

Fiona keeps busy in her spare time as secretary of Mid Canterbury Softball, as well as playing softball, tennis and hockey.

Emily Bedward-Chapman

Emily is a Year 13 student at Ashburton College, and is excited to be the Myers after school office junior for 2012. She takes accounting as a subject at the College, and is interested in turning it into a career.

Emily makes sure we can find everything we need when we need it, keeping all the filing organised and ensuring no paperwork accidentally goes astray. Her jobs also include outwards correspondence, deliveries, and ensuring the caffeine levels of staff are just right.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys socialising and attending youth camps.
